Welcome Transfer Students
Cheyney University values the contributions and experiences that transfer students bring to our community. If you’ve completed college coursework elsewhere and want to continue toward your bachelor’s degree here, this page explains how your previous credits may transfer, what to expect during review, and how those credits apply to your degree plan.
Transfer Admission Eligibility Requirements
To be considered for admission as a transfer student, applicants must:
- Have completed a minimum of 12 college-level credits
- Earned at least a 2.0 cumulative GPA
- Be in good academic, financial, and judicial standing at all previously attended institutions
How Transfer Credits Are Evaluated
Transfer credits are reviewed after admission materials are received and verified.
- Transfer credit evaluations are completed by the Office of Admissions and the University Registrar
- Credits may transfer to Cheyney University; however, grades and GPA do not transfer
- Coursework is reviewed for:
- Institutional accreditation
- Course level and content
- Alignment with Cheyney degree requirements
- Some credits may apply directly to general education, major requirements, or electives depending on equivalency.
Application & Transcript Requirements
All transfer applicants must:
- Complete the Transfer Admission Application
- Submit the application fee
- Provide official transcripts from all colleges or universities attended
- Meet all stated deadlines to be considered for admission and credit evaluation
- Transfer credit evaluation cannot be completed without official transcripts.
