What is TRiO Student Support Services?
The Trio Student Support Services (SSS) is a federally funded program that provides academic assistance to up to 144 eligible undergraduate students at Cheyney University. The goal of the program is to help low-income and first-generation college students and/or college students with disabilities to succeed at college and earn their bachelor’s degrees. The program focuses on the motivation towards successful completion of their post-secondary education and promotes graduate school enrollment. TRIO programs provide academic tutoring, personal counseling, mentoring, financial guidance, and other support necessary for educational access and retention.

Requirements to Join TRiO
All Students who meet the eligibility rules may apply to the TRiO program:
- Must be a citizen of the United States of America
- Have a need for Academic Support
- Must be a full-time student
- Must maintain a 2.0 GPA requirement
- First-generation College Student
- Low-income
- Documented Learning or Physical Disability
- Majoring in (Psychology, Business, HRTM, Education)
