Leadership Team
Clifton Anderson
Senior Advisor & Chief StrategistClifton Anderson has been working with Cheyney University since August 2017 as a Senior Advisor to the Office of the President. He holds a Master of Business Administration from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Florida A&M University. He advises the President’s Executive Leadership Team on organizational and financial strategy, organizational development, and cultural transformation.
Dr. Kevin Aiken
Chief Advancement OfficerDr. Kevin M. Aiken joined Cheyney University in April 2023. He serves as the Chief Advancement Officer. Dr. Aiken brings to Cheyney University over 20 years of strategic leadership in collegiate Institutional Advancement. He is responsible for Fundraising, Donor Support, Liaising with The Cheyney Foundation, Alumni Relations, Overall Messaging, Branding/Graphics Arts & Design, Marketing, Internal and External Communications and Public Relations. He holds B.S degrees in Management/Leadership from Geneva College, a Master in Philosophy, from Biblical Theological Seminary, and an earned Ph.D. in Leadership from Capital Seminar & Graduate School. He serves as the lead to guide the Advancement of Cheyney University, with a focus on awareness, sustainability, financial procurement/fundraising and improving systematic engagement internally and externally.
Dr. Derrick Gilmore
Chief Administrative & Operational OfficerDr. Derrick C. Gilmore, serves as the Chief Administrative and Operations Officer for the institution and provides oversight for Business and Finance, Facilities Management, Logistics, Public Safety, and Environmental Health and Safety. Prior to his appointment at Cheyney, he served as the Executive Vice President at Stillman College, in his role he supported the tripartite approach to higher education by focusing on teaching, research, and service. During his tenure, he has supported infrastructure and systems integration for academic and operations efficiencies. Dr. Gilmore was responsible for community engagement and served on the United Way annual fundraising committee, the Tuscaloosa Business Exchange, and the board for Arts n’ Autism. Nationally, he served on the Southern Regional Education Board, Executive Committee to support stability and sustainable growth for minority-serving institutions. As a 2022 fellow for the Appalachian Regional Commission, Gilmore promoted education, economic, and workforce development for all 13 states that constitute the Appalachian region.
Before his appointment at Stillman, he served as the Associate Provost at Kentucky State University, where he also served as the staff representative on the Board of Trustees. He has extensive experience in sponsored research administration having served at two 1890 land-grant institutions (Kentucky State University and Alabama A&M University) for over 15 years. Serving as a sponsored research administrator and principal investigator for numerous federal agencies, state governments, and private foundations he has supported institutional efforts accounting for over 400 million dollars in both applied and basic research during his career.
Dr. Sharon Gramby-Sobukwe
Chief Academic Officer and ProvostDr. Sharon Gramby-Sobukwe joined Cheyney University in June 2022, after serving thirty years in higher education teaching and managing programs. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Policy from Duke University, an MGA in Government Administration from the University of Pennsylvania, and a Ph.D. in Political Science from Temple University. She provides leadership for academic degree programs, support services, policies and faculty, as well as direction for student affairs, including student activities, housing, and athletics.
Dr. Pamela Keye
Chief Social Equity OfficerDr. Pamela Keye joined Cheyney University in July 2022. She is responsible for Student Conduct and Compliance, Tule IX and EEO Discrimination, Diversity, Equity & Social Responsibility, Workforce Development, Career Services, and Strategic Corporate Partnerships. She is the acting director of the Institute for the Contemporary African American Experience (ICAAE) and is responsible for developing an applied research center that will operatize “Cheyney Made” and document evidence-based practices that address structural oppression.
She has earned a Doctor of Education in Educational Administration from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, a Master of Science in Educational Administration from Old Dominion University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Lincoln University.
Cynthia Moultrie
Chief Financial OfficerCynthia Ashford Moultrie, Executive Director for Finance and Administration, joined the Cheyney University staff in 2012. She holds a Master of Arts degree in Administration from Antioch University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature from Lincoln University. Her areas of responsibility include providing leadership and direction for finance and administration functions and oversight for a team of support operations that includes accounting, budgeting, procurement, financial services, grants administration, scholarships, human resources, and information technology.
Dr. Sue Mukherjee
Chief Student Success Officer and Chief Information OfficerSue Mukherjee, Executive Director of Enrollment Management, Information Technology and Special Projects, joined Cheyney in May of 2022. She holds a B.Ed. from University of Ranchi, India and a BS, Economics from University of Kolkata, India. She also holds a Master in Public Administration from Shippensburg University and earned her Ph.D. in Administrative Leadership Studies from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She provides leadership and oversight of Admissions, Financial Aid Bursar, and Registrar, as well as the Information Technology function (via Ellucian). She will also serve as the strategy lead on the OneSis (Banner) implementation and play an integral role with the University’s Strategic Plan and retention initiatives.
