KEYSTONE SCHOLARSHIP
The Keystone Scholarship is awarded to a select group of students who are admitted into the Cheyney University Honors Academy, and who meet the requirements for PA domicile (including US citizenship or permanent residency). The award includes:
A tuition scholarship (full last-dollar scholarship, adjusted according to Financial Aid
Room and board (double occupancy room and a 19 meal plan + flex points) *if you choose a Single room there is an additional charge to pay out-of-pocket*
Fees associated with enrollment in the University
An array of special services and programs to support student success
These scholarships are automatically renewed each semester for up to four years when students meet the obligations of the Academy. All students must comply with all obligations in the CUHA and the following:
- For the Keystone scholarship, students must maintain domicile in the state of Pennsylvania from the time of application through completion of their approved course of study and graduation.
- Students must participate in community service and/or volunteer with the Cheyney University Honors Academy (CUHA). Service learning courses satisfy this requirement. Students must have community service on file with the CUHA office.

Please note that PA residency requires satisfaction of several standards, and is often determined by state income taxes. Only individuals who satisfy the requirements for PA residency, as defined by these policies, may receive the Keystone Scholarship.
Additional awards may be made, based on availability. All awards are available in limited quantities, and students who are selected to receive an award will receive an award letter outlining the full terms of the award.
HUMPHREY’S SCHOLARSHIP
The Richard Humphreys Scholarship at Cheyney University of Pennsylvania is awarded to Education Majors who have a minimum GPA of 3.0.
This scholarship is awarded annually and is non-renewable.
The priority application deadline is February 15
BOND HILL SCHOLARSHIP
The Horace Mann Bond-Leslie Pinckney Hill Scholarship Program (Bond-Hill) provides financial assistance to highly qualified Pennsylvania graduates from Cheyney University of Pennsylvania (Cheyney) and Lincoln University (Lincoln) who pursue approved professional and graduate programs at the Pennsylvania state-related universities and universities in the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE).
Originated in 1983, the scholarship is named in honor of two distinguished past presidents of Lincoln University and Cheyney University, Horace Mann Bond and Leslie Pinckney Hill, respectively.
The Bond-Hill scholarship program provides award recipients with tuition, tuition-related fees, and course materials for up to four years, or eight full-time semesters, of graduate or professional study, depending on the student’s field of study and academic standing.
Students enrolled in professional graduate-level programs in law, medicine, podiatry, and dentistry at partner universities receive priority funding. Based upon available funding, scholarships also may be awarded to students admitted to other approved professional and graduate programs at the partner universities.
Eligibility Criteria
Eligible students must:
- Be a senior at Cheyney or Lincoln or be a graduate of a baccalaureate degree program at either university;
- Be accepted as a full-time student in an approved professional or graduate degree program at a Pennsylvania state-related university or PASSHE university;
- Enroll full-time in the program within five years of graduating from either university;
- Be recommended by the Dean of the respective university;
- Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident or hold a Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) work authorization document or Temporary Protected Status (TPS) with work authorization;
- Be a resident of Pennsylvania for at least one year at the time of application and remain a resident during the entire term of the scholarship;
- Demonstrate high academic performance and maintain satisfactory progress;
- Submit a completed application packet to PDE via Cheney or Lincoln.

Application packets are reviewed on a rolling basis, contingent upon available funding. *It is best however to submit your application by April 18th of each year to ensure that you receive a response in time.
Completed applications should be emailed to CUHonors@cheyney.edu and CC the Honors Director.
Please submit the following with your application for consideration:
- Unofficial transcript
- Resume
- Cover letter
- Three (3) letters of recommendation – including a letter from the Honors Academy Director (completed once your completed application is submitted)
- Acceptance letter
- GRE, LSAT, or MCAT scores
Bond Hill Application Instructions
*The student’s undergraduate university is responsible for submitting the student’s completed application packet to the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE). Students may not apply directly to PDE.
Awards
The number of scholarships awarded and renewed each year is contingent upon the availability of program funding and the annual appropriation from the General Assembly. Award amounts vary according to the student’s graduate program and graduate university.
Students may receive the scholarship for a maximum of four academic years (eight full-time semesters). Students must maintain satisfactory academic status, as defined by the graduate university, and make academic progress toward the professional degree, to have their awards renewed each year.
The Horace Mann Bond-Leslie Pinckney Hill Scholarship Program is administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Education in cooperation with the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency (PHEAA).
