Professional Development Opportunities through Title III

In the areas of technology, Cheyney’s full-time tenure-track faculty and full-time permanent staff have the opportunity to access specially designated Title III funds for professional development. Faculty can also access funding for discipline-specific training.

New employees must have completed the probationary period prior to requesting professional development funds. All requests must comply with the Title III program guidelines, and the maximum allocation per person per grant year is $1,700, contingent upon availability of funds. Training must support current job functions, and Instructional Technology trainings will be given first priority. Professional Development funds may not be used for the following:

  • Attending a meeting where no workshops are offered.
  • Delivering a paper, participating on/facilitating a panel discussion or making a presentation
  • Student Travel
  • Foreign Travel outside the contiguous US
