Cheyney University student Danielle Edwards took her learning beyond the classroom summer 2026 as a Wildlife Rehabilitation and Education Intern at the Northwoods Wildlife Center in Minocqua, Wisconsin.

Through the paid internship, which also included housing, Danielle worked alongside wildlife rehabilitators and veterinarians to care for injured and recovering animals. She assisted with examinations and diagnostic procedures, provided daily medical care for a variety of wildlife, practiced proper animal-handling and safety protocols, and helped transport injured animals during emergencies.

Danielle also led educational tours, helping visitors better understand wildlife conservation and rehabilitation.
