Office of Institutional Effectiveness

Mission

The Office of Institutional Effectiveness advances the University’s mission by fostering a culture of evidence, accountability, and continuous improvement. Through leadership in institutional research, assessment, accreditation, and policy and regulatory compliance, the Office provides reliable data, strategic analysis, and collaborative support to inform decision-making, enhance student success, strengthen institutional quality, and ensure compliance with accreditation standards and federal, state, and system requirements.

What We Do

Situated within Academic Affairs, the Office of Institutional Effectiveness serves as a strategic partner to the University by providing leadership, expertise, and support in the following areas:

  • Institutional Research & Data Analytics: Collect, analyze, and report institutional data to support planning, resource allocation, enrollment management, student success initiatives, external reporting, and evidence-based decision-making.
  • Assessment & Continuous Improvement: Coordinate academic and administrative assessment, program review, strategic plan assessment, and continuous improvement processes that enhance institutional effectiveness and student learning.
  • Accreditation: Lead and coordinate institutional accreditation activities, including Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) compliance, substantive change, annual reporting, and support for specialized accreditation efforts.
  • Policy & Regulatory Compliance: Develop, review, and maintain institutional policies while promoting compliance with federal, state, PASSHE, and accreditation requirements through policy governance, monitoring, education, and institutional collaboration. (Privacy & Right-to-Know)
  • Strategic Planning & Institutional Effectiveness: Facilitate strategic planning, monitor institutional performance, develop dashboards and key performance indicators, and promote a culture of assessment, accountability, and continuous improvement across the University.
  • Decision Support: Provide leaders, faculty, and staff with timely data, analyses, surveys, and reports that support informed decision-making and institutional excellence.

Together, these functions strengthen institutional quality, support student success, promote transparency and accountability, and ensure the University remains responsive to emerging opportunities and regulatory expectations.
