Small and disadvantaged businesses are vital drivers of the economy, but often find the deck stacked against them when competing for opportunities. In partnership with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT), Cheyney University is providing the resources and connections these businesses need to succeed through Diverse Supportive Services Center.

The Center is comprised of three separate centers that focus on small business development and government contracting, with PennDOT and the federal government.

DB Supportive Services Center

The DB Supportive Services Center provides training and consulting services that enable disadvantaged businesses (DBs) to compete, on an equal basis, with non-DBs for 100% state funded PennDOT highway contracts and subcontracts.

The Center’s objective is to increase DB participation on PennDOT highway contracts and subcontracts through training and workshops, and to provide technical assistance to those interested in contracting with PennDOT.
