e2Campus is Cheyney University's Emergency Alert System.

You will receive messages/instructions via text and e-mail in the event of an emergency (such as, facility evacuations & severe weather), as well as, school closing notifications (inclement weather).

You can follow the directions below to sign up or log in to your existing account.

New Users:  Fill out the form below, make sure you have your cell phone with you and it's on, enter your name, cell # and e-mail address. When subscribing, you MUST VALIDATE your account in order to receive emergency notifications.
Once you complete the validation part of registering your mobile phone, the next page will say "You have successfully signed up." You will see a "log in" button for your new account.  To complete your registration, you must open your account and enter your email address, then click the ADD E-MAIL button.  You will instantly be e-mailed a verification
e-mail you must open and click on the validation link and you're all done!

Existing Users:  If you have not VALIDATED your cell phone and e-mail accounts, then please log into your account below at USER ACCOUNT LOGIN.  Then, click on SERVICES, your cell phone and e-mail STATUS should say ACTIVE, if it says INACTIVE, then click on CHANGE STATUS or VALIDATE and follow steps. You MUST VALIDATE both your cell phone and e-mail accounts in order to receive e2Campus messages.

e2Campus gives you info on the go™. Signup and then receive customized, up-to-date school information such as; emergencies and snow closings.  All via cell phone text messages and e-mail.

Subscribers can self-manage their accounts to register or deactivate the service by logging in at the USER ACCOUNT LOGIN field. Validate accounts, update phone numbers or email addresses, and join available groups.

e2Campus enforces a ZERO SPAM policy which clearly prohibits unsolicited messages, and e2Campus does not sell the contact information of our subscribers to third party marketers.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is E2Campus just for cell phones?
E2Campus system can send messages to any device that can receive text message (SMS) through cellular service, such as cell phones, text pagers, BlackBerrys, and some wireless PDAs. In addition, you can also opt to have the messages sent to your e-mail address.

When will I get a E2Campus message?
The university has created a well-defined set of situations that would prompt a E2Campus message. E2Campus only will be activated when there is a critical need to transmit urgent information to the campus community. Here are some examples:

  • Ongoingsafety threats in which an armed or dangerous criminal is at large oncampus.
  • Majorfacility emergencies or evacuations. This may include a large scale gasleak, fire, or hazardous material spill, occurring either on campus ornear enough to campus to cause a credible threat to members of the campuscommunity.
  • Severeweather or illness. This may include a threat from a tornado requiringthose on campus to take shelter, a closing due to anticipated weatherissues, or an outbreak of widespread illness on campus.
  • Timelynotification of crime. Though not all on-campus crime incidents will bereported via the E2Campus system in addition to CU usual methods, thosethat represent a possible threat to campus safety will be communicatedthrough E2Campus.

How can I get more information once I receive a E2Campus message?
Due to the limitations of text messaging, E2Campus messages will be very brief and contain vital and immediate information. More information about a E2Campus message will be made available through the other forms of communication available to the university, including messages posted to, broadcast e-mails, and announcements to local media.

Will I get advertising messages from E2Campus?
No. E2Campus will not be used to deliver any kind of advertising content, and mobile numbers will not be shared with any third parties.

Can my parents or guardian subscribe to E2Campus?
The university has arranged for a limited number of subscriptions only for CU students, faculty and staff members.

Does signing up for E2Campus cost me anything?
There is no cost to sign up for E2Campus. The only charges you incur would be the normal fees charged by your mobile service provider for receiving text messages.

Why is E2Campus necessary?
The university has a wide variety of methods to communicate with members of the campus community. In recent years, the number of mobile telephones has dramatically increased, and text messaging has become a key method to reach people immediately. The E2Campus service allows the university to use the most up-to-date communication method to reach students, faculty and staff in the event of an emergency in addition to the university's other established communication methods.

What if I don’t have a cell phone or my cell phone doesn’t have text messaging?
E2Campus is just one of the communication channels used in the event of an emergency. It is not replacing any of our other previous methods of communication. It is building on those existing methods to keep up with the latest technology used by many members of our community.
